The first day of school is always one of the most exciting times in any school district, and that’s especially true in Oakland. It’s a day when students and staff come back together, most after not seeing each other since the previous school year.
School leaders from across Oakland came together for OUSD’s annual Leadership Institute last week. It was when District leaders shared the latest plans for the school year and a variety of information for principals, assistant principals, and other school leaders to use as they begin the 2024-25 school year.
Ms. Morgan brings a wealth of experience and a deep passion for education to the Bella Vista community. Her career journey in education began in the Oakland Unified School District, where she served as a teacher and administrator for over 20 years. We are thrilled to have her re-joining OUSD to be a part of its administrative team!
It’s hard to believe that we wrapped up another successful school year of teaching and learning across the District last week. These annual times of transition often get me thinking, reflecting on our shared educational journey at the end of every school year.
As we wrap up the school year, we celebrate our staff across the District for all they do every day to support our students. May is the time when many celebrations of staff happen. This is Teacher Appreciation Week, and today is California Day of the Teacher (which is similar to celebrations in Mexico and other Latin American countries).
